Summary

This course provides an expert-led guide to contouring target volumes for medulloblastoma, focusing on Craniospinal Irradiation (CSI) and boost techniques. Learn essential guidelines and practical tips for precise radiation planning in pediatric patients. Understand how to manage complex anatomical considerations and minimize long-term treatment toxicities.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Understand standard treatment sequences and risk stratification for medulloblastoma.
  • Apply accurate contouring techniques for Craniospinal Irradiation (CSI), including cranial nerve exits and spinal canal.
  • Differentiate and implement contouring approaches for immature versus mature skeletal growth in CSI.
  • Outline specific contouring guidelines for Involved Field Boost and Posterior Fossa Boost.
  • Identify critical organs at risk (OARs) for CSI and apply relevant pediatric dose constraints.

Why You Should Attend

  • Gain expertise in radiation planning for challenging pediatric CNS tumors.
  • Learn evidence-based guidelines and clinical tips directly from an experienced practitioner.
  • Optimize treatment strategies to minimize long-term toxicity in young medulloblastoma survivors.
  • Enhance your skills in precise anatomical contouring for complex radiation fields.
  • Stay updated on recent trial outcomes impacting medulloblastoma radiation protocols.

Topics Discussed

  • Overview of Medulloblastoma Treatment.
  • Craniospinal Irradiation (CSI) Contouring Principles.
  • Involved Field Boost Contouring.
  • Posterior Fossa Boost Contouring.
  • Skeletal Growth Considerations in Pediatric CSI.
  • Organ at Risk (OAR) Contouring for CSI.
  • Impact of advanced radiation techniques on vertebral body growth.
